Telecom Italia’s Future Centre in Venice is sponsoring a public presentation of Joanne Ferraro’s Nefarious Crimes, Contested Justice. Illicit Sex and Infanticide in the Republic of Venice, 1557-1789 (Johns Hopins, 2008). Edith Benkov (French Literature, San Diego State University) Michela Dal Borgo (Archivist, State Archives, Venice), Sara Mathews Grieco (History, Women and Gender, Syracuse University, Firenze), and Guido Ruggiero (History, University of Miami), will join Joanne Ferraro (History, San Diego State University) to discuss how scholars uncover the secret world of sexuality in archival collections, literature, and visual representation.
