Jesuit Visual Culture

Posted By Alison C. Fleming, Wednesday, April 27, 2016

Proposals are invited for a session dedicated to Jesuit visual culture in the early modern period, to be held at the Renaissance Society of America meeting in Chicago (March 30-April 1, 2017).  Proposals that explore works of art and architecture, and visual images connected to the Society of Jesus are welcome. Papers may examine artistic projects commissioned by the Society or those created by Jesuit artists, in all media, or address aspects of methodology, historiography, or theory as related to Jesuit visual culture. The session will be sponsored by the Journal of Jesuit Studies.

Please submit proposals, including paper title, abstract (150-word maximum), keywords, and a brief (2 page) c.v. to Alison Fleming [] by May 20, 2016.
