This afternoon symposium brings practitioners of historical performance together with scholars of music and literature to explore the interface between music and the literary arts in early modern Europe. The symposium coincides with a visit to campus by the acclaimed UK-based viol consort, Fretwork, who have recently recorded the complete verse anthems of 17th-century English composer Orlando Gibbons.
