Shakespeare's Sisters
Exhibition Opens
The Folger's spring exhibition, Shakespeare's Sisters: Voices of English and European Women Writers, 1500–1700,
opens on 3 February 2012. Curated by Folger Head of Reference
Georgianna Ziegler, the exhibition showcases the writings,
conversations, and ideas of over fifty women writers from England,
France, and Italy, many of whom were little known or studied until
recent decades. A publication inspired by the exhibition features
original creative works responding to the writing of early modern women;
authors include Maxine Kumin, Jane Smiley, Eavan Boland, and Rita Dove.
The Exhibition Hall has expanded hours. Plan your visit any day of the week.
