Dear Colleagues and Manuscript Lovers,
Attached is the fifth issue of Manuscripts on My Mind, a little less
timely than I would have liked. Please note that a couple of the Calls
for Papers have very close deadlines, in case you might be interested.
There are still openings for papers in the three suggested sessions for
this year’s Thirty-Ninth Annual Saint Louis Conference on Manuscript
Studies, October 12–13, 2012, and the deadline has been extended to the
end of this month.

I thank the many readers who have responded with news of exhibitions,
new publications, conferences, events, discoveries, and other useful
information. I look forward to hearing from you in the next months,
either in response to some topic mentioned in this issue, as well as
suggestions and information for the next.
