Our 2018 Annual Meeting in New Orleans will take place on March 22–24, which is a week earlier in March than our last few meetings. Our conference hotel, the Hilton New Orleans Riverside, is located close to the French Quarter – a short walk or a quick ride on the streetcar line that runs right by the hotel. A dozen years after Hurricane Katrina, the city is thriving again, especially the historic sections, the French Quarter and Garden District, which were spared from the massive flooding because of their locations on higher ground. Exhibitions at the Historic New Orleans Collection focus on the city’s history. Numerous guided and self-guided walking tours are available (non-segregated, non-denominational, historic Lafayette Cemetery is not to be missed). And there is a Kress collection and first-rate sculpture garden at the New Orleans Museum of Art

Our conference site for 2019 will be announced in mid-March 2018.

Philadelphia will be our destination in 2020, on April 2–4. We have booked accommodations and meeting rooms at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown and the nearby Courtyard Philadelphia Downtown, both of them a short walk from the famed Reading Terminal Market and City Hall. The Philadelphia Historic District, which was the first World Heritage city in the US, is also within walking distance or a short cab, bus, or subway ride. The Library Company of Philadelphia houses collections on American society and culture dating from the seventeenth century. The majestic Philadelphia Museum of Art, originally chartered for the Centennial Exposition in 1876, with its main building on Fairmont Hill completed in 1928, has pay-as-you-wish evening hours on Wednesdays and evening hours on Fridays as well.

In 2021 we will return to Europe to hold our Annual Meeting in Dublin, Ireland on April 8-10. Dublin is a very walkable city, and the Luas light-rail tram system also makes it easy to get around town. The Convention Centre Dublin will be our conference headquarters, hosting the registration desk, exhibits, and plenaries. Our paper sessions and roundtables will be held at three sites: the Convention Centre, the Chartered Accountants House, and the classic Gresham Hotel. Special sessions, events, and exhibitions, before and during the conference, will also take place at Trinity College Dublin, the Chester Beatty Library, Marsh’s Library, and other museums and archives around the city. Admission to all Irish national museums, including the National Gallery of Ireland, is free. Reduced-rate accommodations have been booked for RSA attendees at four large downtown hotels.
