A conference on the impact of the printing revolution on the economic and social development of early modern Europe. The first day is centred on the cost of living and the cost of books in 15th-century Europe; the second on the transmission of texts in print and the distribution and reception of books; the third on illustration and digital tools developed by the 15cBOOKTRADE Project, in collaboration with CERL (MEI), the British Library (ISTC), The Visual Geometry Group of the University of Oxford (image-matching), the Oxford e-Research Centre (visualization suite), the Bodleian Library (Text-inc), and over 360 European and American contributing libraries and 140 editors.
