On Friday, March 2, 2012, the Jane Fortune Conference entitled "Women Artists of Early Modern Italy” will take place in the Auditorium of the State Archive of Florence from 9am until 5pm. Underwritten by Dr. Jane Fortune and a grant from the Kress Foundation, this conference has been organized by the Medici Archive Project in collaboration with the State Archive of Florence. Following a keynote address from honored speaker Dr. Sheila ffolliott, twelve scholars from three continents will present new archival research on Sofonisba Anguissola, Artemisia Gentileschi, Rosalba Carriera, as well as other women artists of the 16th-18th centuries.
