Call for Applications: Wesleyan University: Visiting Assistant Professor of Italian (2019–20)

The Department of Romance Languages & Literatures invites applications for a one-year, full-time Visiting Assistant Professor to teach five courses: Elementary Italian, taught in a team setting; more advanced Italian Studies courses through the medium of Italian, including at least one course in the candidate’s research field; and possibly advise an undergraduate honors thesis. Though the field of specialization is open, the successful candidate will have the sort of preparation that will allow her/him to offer appropriately broad courses for undergraduate majors and other advanced students of Italian. We seek someone with understanding of liberal arts colleges and the place of Italian within this setting, and with a proven record of success teaching undergraduates in a North American university setting, at all levels, and from diverse backgrounds.

Requirements: PhD in Italian Studies (preferred) or ABD, native or near-native fluency in Italian and English.
