Program Manager, Center for Netherlandish Art
Museum of Fine Arts, Boston

Under the direction of the Van Otterloo-Weatherbie Director, Center for Netherlandish Art, the Program Manager will support overall program development, fundraising activities, and administration of the Center for Netherlandish Art (CNA) at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

The Program Manager will support the Director by working with internal staff across several departments to develop and implement educational programs and special events; coordinate communication materials to promote the CNA; support efforts to forge and maintain partnerships with outside organizations and institutions; coordinate the activities and meetings of the CNA’s Advisory Group, and provide support for fundraising activities and donor relations. The Program Manager will also have responsibility for administrative functions such as correspondence, meeting preparation, budget tracking, and other tasks that may arise in connection with the Center’s activities.

The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment with varied projects and responsibilities, requiring active collaboration with internal staff and clear, professional communication with donors and other external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; M.A. in art history preferred
  • Specialization in Dutch, Flemish, or Early Netherlandish art desirable
  • Minimum of three to five years of Curatorial, Education, or Academic experience, including work with varied constituents such as donors, museum staff, and academic faculty
  • Strong organizational abilities, attention to detail and follow-through skills
  • Excellent writing and database management skills
  • Professional demeanor and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks fluidly and efficiently in a demanding, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential materials with professionalism
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, solve problems, make decisions, work independently and as a team player
  • Experience in event planning preferred
