RSA 2020 Annual Meeting Cancelled

Monday, March 16, 2020
Share |

Dear RSA Members,

It is with a heavy heart that we formally announce that the 2020 Annual Meeting in Philadelphia is officially cancelled. Many of you have already withdrawn from the conference but for those who have not, please fill out this form and we will refund your registration fee. If you prefer, you can donate your fee to the RSA. The deadline for refund requests is 1 May 2020, and we ask that you use the reimbursement form—instead of email—for expedited processing.

We have issued a general certificate of cancellation stating that the Annual Meeting will not be taking place. You can download the PDF certificate here. If you’d prefer that the cancellation certificate include your specific details, please use this form to request a personalized document.

If you have a hotel room reserved in our conference block, Marriott will be cancelling your reservation automatically on Monday, March 16, in the late afternoon, Eastern Daylight Time. Please watch for a cancellation confirmation email from Marriott or The Notary Hotel.

We will indeed allow cancelled Philadelphia sessions to be presented at the RSA Annual Meeting in Dublin in 2021. The details of that submission process will be shared next month.

We know that some of you have questions about the events leading up to the cancellation of the Philadelphia conference, and we invite you to share your thoughts at our Annual Member Meeting taking place in April. This meeting will be held via video conference and all RSA members are invited to attend. The details of that meeting will be sent to members soon. Additional RSA-sponsored opportunities to connect virtually with Society members will be announced over the next several weeks.

I would like to express my gratitude and pride in how the RSA board and staff have so nimbly and resiliently risen to this unprecedented challenge. I would also like to thank each of you for your patience and understanding as we continue to navigate this historic public health crisis. I have enormous faith in the RSA community and am confident that we will come through this trying period stronger than ever. We will be in touch again soon and look forward to seeing you in better times at RSA 2021 Dublin.

With deep appreciation,

Clare Carroll, RSA president

On behalf of the RSA Executive Committee, Conference Chair, Finance Committee, and Staff
