Monday, May 14, 2018   (0 Comments)

The Medieval Academy of America
University of Pennsylvania
Philadelphia, March 7–9, 2019

The session organizer is seeking papers on Networks in the Fifteenth Century. Contributions may reflect on the various types of networks that existed in the fifteenth century, especially those that spanned cultures or disciplines. Papers discussing unconventional, casual, and secret networks will be welcomed. Some potential questions to engage are: How were networks created? How were ideas or practices shared?

The session will aim to fit with the MAA’s proposed theme of “The Global Turn in Medieval Studies” and specifically the topic of Transmission and Technologies of Knowledge. Those interested in proposing a paper should send a 250-word abstract to by June 1.
