Leading an intellectual management team of four, the Director shapes intellectual programming, mentors Fellows across disciplines, stewards community life, and represents the Academy’s artistic, academic, and civic circles. <title>Sculpture Journal Essay Prize</title>

<description><![CDATA[<p>We are pleased to announce the inaugural Sculpture Journal Essay Prize to coincide with the journal’s thirtieth anniversary year in 2027. The editors invite research articles on any topic relevant to Sculpture Journal’s readership from early career researchers and doctoral students. These should be between 6,000 and 9,000 words (including notes) in length with a maximum of 10 images. The editors will review all submissions to select the prize winner and will work with the successful candidate to prepare the manuscript for publication after peer review. Other promising articles submitted to the prize may be invited to publish their submission in Sculpture Journal.<br /><br />The deadline for submissions of full articles is <strong>15 January 2027</strong>; email submissions to both Teresa Kittler (teresa.kittler@york.ac.uk) and Natasha Ruiz-Gómez (natashar@essex.ac.uk) with the subject line 'Sculpture Journal Essay Prize'. <description><![CDATA[<p><span style="white-space: normal;">The Clark Art Institute is pleased to announce a position for the Lunde Fellow, a two-year curatorial fellowship in early modern European art. Funded by the Asbjorn Lunde Foundation, the fellowship offers exceptional scholarly and professional training to an emerging early modern European painting and sculpture curator. The focal point of the fellowship will be organizing and contributing materials for an ambitious scholarly catalogue of the Clark’s collection of fifteenth- through eighteenth-century paintings and sculpture, which includes the recently gifted Aso O. It focuses on the “decoding” of Western-language manuscripts, printed books, and material artifacts related to East–West encounters and Christianity in East Asia (16th–18th centuries, (China, Japan, Korea, and Vietnam). <title>Short-term Research Stays 2026-27 at the Swedish Collegium for Advanced Study (SCAS)</title>

<description><![CDATA[<p><span style="white-space: normal;">For the academic year 2026-27, the Collegium offers short-term research stays (approximately two weeks to two months) to scholars from all countries. Short-term research stays are offered during the autumn and spring semesters, depending on various circumstances, such as the availability of office space. The research stays give scholars the opportunity to concentrate on their own research interests, free from the teaching and administrative duties of ordinary university life.
