2020 Membership

RSA memberships for 2020 are available now. To become an RSA member, visit this page.

If you prefer to renew by mail, please fill out the 2020 membership renewal form and enclose it with your dues payment. This form is intended for renewals only; new RSA members must register via the website.

Annual Memberships

As of June 2018, RSA memberships last for a full twelve months from the time of renewal.

Memberships were previously calculated on a calendar-year basis, terminating on 14 January of the following year. Membership terms for those who joined between January and June of 2018 were retroactively extended to a full twelve-month term.

2020 Membership Dues Rates

In 2017 the RSA adopted a confidential, income-adjusted structure for its membership dues. This new structure replaced our traditional dues categories. It differs from the previous structure in that it is progressive: RSA members are invited to opt in privately at the dues level they find appropriate for their income level and circumstances of employment.

The income from our membership dues supports the projects and endeavors represented in our central operating budget, including staffing, the Renaissance Quarterly journal, the Renaissance News newsletter, and our subscription to EEBO.

Conference registration fees, which have not increased since 2015, support the cost of our Annual Meeting, except for the year-round staff time needed to manage the conference, which is included in the central operating budget.

Interest income on our endowed funds such as the General Fund and Paul Oskar Kristeller Fund supports our program of research fellowships and travel grants.
